Bad weather has hot Scottish football adversely with the Gers being the most affected. They have played just 2 games in the last four weeks leading to concerns over the match fitness of the players. Manager Walter Smith has insisted his side has trained hard in the last few weeks, but has acknowledged that it is not the same as having games under the belt.
Good news for Rangers in this frustrating period is that Steven Naismith has signed a new deal, which sees him stay at the Iborx until 2015. Meanwhile Smith will be looking to bolster his squad during January and is seeking a striker.
St Johnstone have also been affected by the bad weather, but will be hoping to take advantage of the rustiness of Rangers’ players this Wednesday. The Saints currently occupy the 8th spot on the league table with 18 points from 16 games played so far.
