Liverpool vs Bolton

Saturday 1st January 15:00 GMT
Bolton Wanderers will be hopeful that their excellent first half of the season continues into the new year starting with a victory over Liverpool when the two teams meet on Saturday. The Trotters have been one of the surprise packages of the season so far and sit sixth in the league table, just two points behind Chelsea. Manager Owen Coyle will be delighted with his side’s performances so far and will be optimistic that his side will come out of the difficult festive period with their reputation intact as they face difficult trips to Chelsea and Liverpool.

Bolton bounced back from their disappointing defeat to Sunderland in a perfection fashion as goals from Matt Taylor and Johan Elmander in the final four minutes of each half secured them a comfortable victory over West Brom.

Liverpool on the other hand missed the action on Boxing Day as their match against Blackpool was called off due to frozen pitch. Manager Roy Hodgson will be happy with the unexpected rest for his side and will be hoping to make good use of it by maintaining a perfect record during the festive period that sees them play Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn.

Jamie Carragher is the only major injury concern for Liverpool while Ricardo Gardner could return for Bolton with the defender recovering from his knee injury. Use your exclusive membership to watch Liverpool vs Bolton live
